Welcoming Refugees on Campus

In a January 2023 announcement, Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken outlined a new initiative entitled “Welcome Corps”. The Welcome Corps was designed based on existing programs building hosting programs for Ukrainian, Afghan and Venezuelan refugees. The new program will allow for host corps to sponsor refugees from a wider representation of countries. It also allows for Higher Ed institutions to be a part of the Corps. On this edition of Office Hours we are joined by Laura Wagner from the President’s Alliance to speak about how the new Welcome Corps were designed and how campuses can learn about becoming a member of the corps.
