Are Southern universities and colleges finding a surge of applicants from “woke” havens on the coasts? In this episode of “Office Hours” we will be joined by reporter Nicole LaPorte, whose recent piece for Town & Country, entitled “Southern Exposure” documents how students, and parents, are seeking southern campuses where the temperature and the campus culture seems to be warmer. Nicole LaPorte is a Los Angeles - Based Senior Writer for Fast Company who writes about where technology and entertainment intersect. She previously was a columnist for the New York Times and Staff Writer for Newsweek, The Daily Beast and Variety. She has also developed a strong interest in Higher Education, Her book, Guilty Admissions: The Bribes, Favors and Phonies Behind the College Cheating Scandal was published in 2021.
